We carefully reserve a small selection of each Cabernet Sauvignon vintage for a limited re-release, offering a chance to acquire wines with exceptional aging potential. Many of these rare bottles come directly from the personal collection of Fiona and Hal Barnett, making them a true piece of our estate’s history.
Aromas of red cherry, currant and violets followed by dark spices of clove, anise and sandalwood. The palate is firm and bold in the middle with fine tannins and mild acidity. Flavors of dark fruit and licorice followed by oak spice finish on the palate along with bittersweet chocolate.
The 2016 Spring Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is deep purple to the core. Blueberry pie, cloves and black plum jump from the glass. The nose is also filled with anise, cedar and black pepper.
The 2017 Spring Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the darkest we’ve made. Big black raspberry jumps from the glass as well as blueberry jam and black pepper. There is a bright chocolate element surrounded by cedar notes.
In 2018 climatic conditions were perfect up on Spring Mountain. This Cabernet is evidence of that. Fresh blackberry, anise and mocha are the first things apparent on the nose followed by cola, acai berry and menthol.
