The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Rattlesnake is inky and unctuous in the glass. Blackberry jam, crème de cassis, chocolate, spice, licorice and menthol are all given a few extra notches of intensity in a decidedly rich, opulent Cabernet that will drink well pretty much right out of the gate. There is certainly plenty to like.
2017 Barnett Vineyards Spring Mountain District Cabernet Franc | 92 points
The 2017 Cabernet Franc is opulent and rich in the glass, with a heady concoction of dense ripe fruit, soaring aromatics and textural depth. Even with all of its obvious intensity, the 2017 retains terrific energy, with plenty of Franc minerality that lurks beneath. The 2017 is decidedly opulent, but it is also very pretty and expressive.
2017 Barnett Vineyards Spring Mountain District Merlot | 91 points
The 2017 Merlot is soft, racy and impeccably balanced. To be sure, in 2017 the Merlot is a bit smaller-scaled than it can be, and yet all the elements meld together effortlessly. Black cherry, chocolate, spice, leather and licorice are some of the many notes that are laced together in this delicious and inviting Merlot from Barnett.
