The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Rattlesnake Hill is the darkest and most powerful of these wines. Smoke, licorice, menthol and new leather wrap around a core of fleshy, supple fruit, all supported by firm yet nicely balanced tannins. Blackberry jam, mint, tar, violets and cloves add an element of gravitas as the wine opens up in the glass. The Rattlesnake will drink well early, but it also has more than enough depth to age gracefully for a number of years. Reviewer: Antonio Galloni.
2012 Barnett Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Cyrus Ryan / 92 points
A dark, fleshy wine, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Cyrus Ryan Vineyard is a real beauty. All the elements fall into place gracefully as the 2012 shows off its class. The flavors are bold, racy and expressive, yet the 2012 retains a mid-weight sense of structure that balances some of the wine's more overt leanings. Drink this dark, fleshy Cabernet Sauvignon over the next 10-15 years. Reviewer: Antonio Galloni.
2012 Barnett Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain District / 91 points
The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is quite pretty and expressive. Dark red stone fruits, flowers, mint, spices and new leather are all laced together in this soft, perfumed Cabernet Sauvignon. The mid-weight style suggests the 2012 is best enjoyed sooner rather than later. Mint, pine and wild flowers add lift on the finish. Reviewer: Antonio Galloni.
