2010 Barnett Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, Rattlesnake Hill Estate; A Cabernet Sauvignon Dry Red Table wine from Spring Mountain District, Napa, North Coast, California, USA Rating: 91 The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Rattlesnake Hill is another very pretty wine, even if it lacks some of the sheer thrill of the two preceding Cabernets in this lineup. Plums, blackberries, spices and scorched earth are some of the many notes that inform the powerful finish. The Rattlesnake Hill has a bit less personality than the best Barnett wines, but it is still highly appealing. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2028. Reviewer: Antonio Galloni
2010 Barnett Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, Cyrus Ryan; A Cabernet Sauvignon Dry Red Table wine from Napa, North Coast, California, USA Rating: 93 Barnett’s 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Cyrus Ryan Vineyard opens with an intriguing array of super-ripe, exotic red fruit, licorice, white flowers, incense and sweet tobacco. Ripe, flashy and voluptuous, the 2010 fills out beautifully in all directions, showing wonderful intensity and fabulous overall balance. The inky, opulent finish is particularly attractive. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. Reviewer: Antonio Galloni
2010 Barnett Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, Spring Mountain; A Cabernet Sauvignon Dry Red Table wine from Spring Mountain District, Napa, North Coast, California, USA Rating: 93 Deep, dense and rich, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain oozes with character and sheer personality. Black fruit, tobacco, incense and crushed rocks are some of the many nuances that unfold as the wine sits in the glass. Tar, asphalt and licorice are layered into the sinewy, powerful finish. The 2010 is a fascinating and totally intriguing Cabernet. The blend is 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024.
2010 Barnett Vineyards Merlot Spring Mountain; A Merlot Dry Red Table wine from Napa, North Coast, California, USA Rating: 91 The 2010 Merlot Spring Mountain is quite attractive. The firm mountain tannins give the wine its backbone. Raspberry jam, flowers and spices flesh out in the radiant, inviting finish. The addition of 13% Cabernet Franc adds gorgeous layers of aromatic nuance and complexity. This is a beautifully balanced, harmonious wine from Barnett. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025.
