2010 Sangiacomo Chardonnay
Carneros
The 2010 is an extremely layered Chardonnay, with elements of honeycomb and crème brulee on the nose, surrounded by tropical elements of guava and ripe kiwi. Typical to the Sangiacomo, soapstone minerality is apparent in the background. The richness on the palate is surrounded with flavors of vanilla bean and honeysuckle, while the viscosity is balanced well with the fresh malic acid that comes through on the finish. This Chardonnay is fresh and vibrant now but will develop additional complexity over the next 5 to 6 years (2016-2017).

2010 Savoy Vineyard Chardonnay
Anderson Valley
The young 2010 Savoy Chardonnay is very elegant with delicate aromatics. Sweet perfume and jasmine spice give way to fresh grapefruit and floral aromas. This young wine is not extremely viscous but will become richer over a year or two. The flavors on the palette are abundant with lemon custard and green apple surrounded by sweet vanilla and wet rock minerality. This is a fantastic example of a cooler climate Chardonnay; it's an intense wine and will age wonderfully over the next 5-6 years (2016-2017).

2010 Savoy Vineyard Pinot Noir
Anderson Valley
The 2010 Savoy has an instantaneous core of black cherry and black raspberry. This is surrounded by cedar spice and cinnamon. The full rich center of this wine coats your mouth like cream chocolate. The fruit continues with full cherry pie, coated around the gravel like minerality. Very round and balanced with full tannins and good acidity this Pinot will hold exceptionally for the next 8-10 years (2019-2021).

2010 Tina Marie Pinot Noir
Green Valley of the Russian River
The 2010 Tina Marie is one of the most fragrant Pinots we have ever made. Immediate layers of spice occur, with white pepper and Asian five spice jumping out of the glass. Dusty cocoa is surrounded by bright black cherry and hints of cola. Around the balanced viscosity the fruit abounds on the palette with rhubarb and raspberry tart, as well as pure fennel and cola. This is a more structured Pinot with firmer tannins that are balanced with some fresh acidity allowing the wine to hold nicely over the next 7-8 years (2018-2019).

2010 Donnelly Creek Pinot Noir
Anderson Valley
The 2010 Donnelly Creek Pinot is extremely lively and fresh on the nose. Baskets of Blueberries and fresh strawberries dominate the nose, surrounded by sweet vanilla and perfume. Floral aspects, particularly violets, begin to abound. Darker fruit comes in on the pallet, as well as a fresh spring rain form of minerality. This is a lighter fresher version of an Anderson Valley Pinot, meant to be consumed in its youth (2014-2016).

2009 Merlot
Spring Mountain District
The 2009 Merlot is deep in color in its youth, but amazingly open and fragrant. Rich black plum, ripe pomegranate and sweet chocolate abound on the nose. Less mineral driven then previous years, trace amounts of dusty earth match the light cinnamon sweetness. As per normal with our Merlot the mouthfeel of the wine is extremely rich, with more of the mineality apparent here, but still hiding under the dark raspberry fruit. The tannins are chalky and firmly present without being overbearing. This wonderful wine will age beautifully over the next 5-6 years (2016-2017).

2009 Cabernet Sauvignon
Spring Mountain District
Deep purple in its youth the young 2009 Spring Mountain Cabernet is refined in its purity of blackcurrant and pepper spice. Some black cherry and anise begins to become apparent, but the gravely rock minerality really starts to push through with a few swirls. Very round and lush on the mid palette, more cassis pushes though coated with pure vanilla bean and black licorice. The tannins are more sizable on this vintage, but the purity of the natural Spring Mountain acid balances it well. This is a cab that will show well in its adolescence, but will be amazingly showy with some patience in the cellar (2023-2025).

2009 Cabernet Sauvignon 'Cyrus Ryan'
Napa Valley
The opaque color of this year's Cyrus-Ryan foreshadows the depth and structure that the wine delivers. Big fresh blackberry and dark chocolate are firmly concentrated on the nose. Crushed violets and graphite come through on the background while the first sip delivers an amazing lushness. Intense deep cooking chocolate and anise deliver a spicy sweetness on the palette. The tannins are intense but chalky suggesting great potential for holding, around 10-12 years of patience in the cellar would greatly benefit this vintage (2021-2023).

2009 Rattlesnake Hill Cabernet Sauvignon
Spring Mountain District
Deep purple in color the 2009 Rattlesnake is a very serious intense wine. Fresh cassis and mashed flowers fill the nose with beautiful intense vanilla, without being over oaky. Beautiful peppery spices and wet volcanic earth as well as pure cocoa nib play evenly with the fruit. An intensely rich wine the fruit explodes on the palette with ripe pomegranate and concentrated blueberry. More vanilla coats the mountain minerality on the finish of this dynamic wine. Very firm tannins are matched with mountain acidity suggesting long bottle age is in order. Hold for 15-18 years (2026-2029).
