2007 Barnett Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Rattlesnake Hill Estate

Rating: 95pts

A fabulous effort, and perhaps Barnett's best wine in twenty years, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Rattlesnake Hill possesses an inky/blue/purple color as well as an exquisite nose of crushed rocks, acacia flowers, blue, red, and black fruits, full-bodied power, a layered, multidimensional personality, and serious concentration and length. This classic Spring Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon should age effortlessly for 30+ years. Bravo!

This Spring Mountain winery has fashioned their finest wines since the early nineties.

2006 Barnett Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Cyrus Ryan

Rating: 91pts

A Cabernet Sauvignon Dry Red Table wine from, Napa, North Coast, California, USA

From a 2-acre valley floor vineyard, the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Cyrus Ryan offers deep black currant and black cherry fruit intermixed with charcoal, graphite, and spice, supple tannins, an attractive, up-front, fleshy mouthfeel, and none of the rustic hardness that can appear in some 2006 Cabernets. Drink it over the next 10-15 years.

2006 Barnett Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain

Rating: 90+pts

A Cabernet Sauvignon Dry Red Table wine from Spring Mountain District , Napa, North Coast, California, USA

The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain reveals some of the same raspberry and blueberry notes, but they are less intense. It comes across like an impressive, Margaux-styled wine displaying a floral character, elegance rather than power, and a long, textured finish. Drink it over the next 12-15+ years.

2007 Rattlesnake Hill Estate Cabernet Sauvignon receives a 95 point Score in June 2010 Issue of Wine Enthusiast

A tremendous wine that easily merits being Barnett’s most expensive release. Shows the ripe blackberry and black currant flavors and new oak that are so easily achieved, with yet near perfect tannins and a dryness unusual in a Cabernet this fruity. The combination of opposites makes this mountain wine noteworthy, as well as ageable. Now–2017.  — S.H.  (6/1/2010)  — 95

2007 Cyrus Ryan Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) receives a 93 point Score in June 2010 Issue of Wine Enthusiast

Disconnected in its youth, with separate oak and fruit elements that need time to find each other and marry. The oak shows up as caramel and butterscotch, while the fruit stands aloof, in blackberry and black currant superiority. Seems to have the inherent balance for aging. Try after 2013.  — S.H.  (6/1/2010)  — 93

2007 Savoy Vineyard Chardonnay receives a 93 point Score in August 2009 Issue of Wine Enthusiast

The vineyard is the source of fantastic Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays for several wineries, and Barnett scores big points with this lush, rich but balanced wine. It’s tremendous in pineapple, pear, green apple and oaky vanilla flavors, but beautifully balanced with firm acidity. Represents an impressive step forward for this bottling.  — S.H.  (8/1/2009)  — 93

2006 Tina Marie Vineyard Pinot Noir (Russian River Valley) receives a 92 point Score in July 2008 Issue of Wine Enthusiast

The vineyard is in Green Valley, the coolest part of the valley and one of the best for Pinot Noir. It’s a classic, with crisp acidity framing laser-pure cherry, Dr. Pepper, date and spice flavors that are elaborated with rich new smoky oak. A beauty.  — S.H.  (7/1/2008)  — 92
