The brilliant 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Rattlesnake Hill (from an estate vineyard situated at a 2,000 foot elevation) possesses intense minerality along with blueberry, black raspberry and black currant fruit, a firm backbone and moderate tannic structure. This impressively endowed Cabernet Sauvignon is built for serious aging. Dense ruby/purple-tinged and pure, it is the most impressive effort in this portfolio. Give it several years of cellaring and enjoy it over the following 15+ years.

The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain offers earthy, spicy aromas intermixed with a notion of black currants. Medium to full-bodied with more texture and richness than the Merlot, noticeable but sweet tannin and a distinct earthy character that permeates the aromas and flavors, this solidly made Cabernet Sauvignon should drink nicely for 7-10 years.

The 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Cyrus Ryan Vineyard comes from a two acre parcel on the eastern side of the Napa Valley floor, just off the Silverado Trail in St. Helena. Fragrant notes of black currants, cedar and spice jump from the glass of this dark ruby/purple-tinged wine. Broad, juicy red and black fruits dominate the palate of this medium to full-bodied, moderately tannic, juicy, succulent Cabernet. It can be drunk now and over the next 10-15 years.

The 2009 Pinot Noir Savoy Vineyard has benefitted from early bottling. Its medium dark ruby hue is accompanied by scents of boysenberries, cherries and a touch of spice. A medium-bodied Pinot with lovely up-front fruit, impressive purity and no hard edges, it is a delicious, already complex red to drink over the next 4-5 years.  Drink 2010 - 2015

2007 Barnett Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Rattlesnake Hill Estate                   

A fabulous effort, and perhaps Barnett's best wine in twenty years, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Rattlesnake Hill possesses an inky/blue/purple color as well as an exquisite nose of crushed rocks, acacia flowers, blue, red, and black fruits, full-bodied power, a layered, multidimensional personality, and serious concentration and length. This classic Spring Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon should age effortlessly for 30+ years. Bravo!

A Cabernet Sauvignon Dry Red Table wine from, Napa, North Coast, California, USA

From a 2-acre valley floor vineyard, the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Cyrus Ryan offers deep black currant and black cherry fruit intermixed with charcoal, graphite, and spice, supple tannins, an attractive, up-front, fleshy mouthfeel, and none of the rustic hardness that can appear in some 2006 Cabernets. Drink it over the next 10-15 years.

The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain reveals some of the same raspberry and blueberry notes, but they are less intense. It comes across like an impressive, Margaux-styled wine displaying a floral character, elegance rather than power, and a long, textured finish. Drink it over the next 12-15+ years.
